5 years. It may not be much in the grand scheme of things, but in the 5 years since my mom took her own life, I can say without prevarication that you all - my friends, family, framily, coworkers, former coworkers, fellow alums - have made an enormous difference in what we at Crisis Services have been able to accomplish by supporting my annual mile long walk in heels for this event to the tune of over $12,000 while pushing me as the top individual fundraiser for 5 years in a row.
It matters not to me in terms of my page doing that. What matters is your support, your caring, your generosity, has helped more Buffalonians than you might think.
So, for the 6th year in a row, I hope I can count on you to sponsor our efforts at Crisis Services by contributing my fundraising page for the event to help those in Buffalo who most need it.
I can think of few better ways to take action on the notion of the "City of Good Neighbors" we pride ourselves on by supporting Crisis Services here.
**Walk A Mile In Her Shoes is a community event, working to raise awareness in our neighborhood regarding sexual and domestic violence issues. Everyone plays an important role in preventing violence. Help spread the word, and join me if you like! Your contributions will help fund The Advocate Program at Crisis Services, which provides initial and ongoing support for those who have been impacted by sexual and domestic violence, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
